Siena Farms Kids’ Share 2016, Week 2: Corn

It’s our second week receiving the Siena Farm Kids’ Share, and there seemed to be a yellow and green theme happening this week! The main ingredient happened to be fresh corn! Did you know—an average ear of corn contains 600 kernels in 16 rows!

The box was filled with beautiful vegetables that included Yukon Gold Potatoes, Butter & Sugar Corn, Shishito Peppers, Summer Squash, Bell Pepper, Scallions, and Thyme. The box’s surprise was a set of corn holders, along with a bunch of great recipes for inspiration!

This week, we made three customizable ChopChop recipes! We love these recipes because you can add in almost anything you want, and it will still taste great! The first recipe is the Corn and Basil Frittata, which we added summer squash and potatoes. The second recipe is the Corny Black Bean Salad. This recipe was perfect for add-ins, and we used the bell and shishito peppers for a more green salad! Finally, the Herby Roast Chicken tasted great with fresh Thyme from the Kids’ Share!
