MEET OUR KIDS ADVISORY BOARD: Danielle
We’re excited to introduce our new ChopChop Kids Advisory Board (KAB). This group of cool kids was hand-selected from kids that applied. They’ll help us to test recipes, think of new ideas for the magazine, and make sure ChopChop gets the kid approval. For the next few weeks we’ll be spotlighting different members of the board.
This week, meet Danielle! She likes crafting, cooking, reading and soccer and when she grows up she wants to work with the government.
Name: Danielle
Location: North Carolina
Age and Grade: 11 years old, going to 6th grade
How I got involved with the ChopChop Kids Advisory Board: I saw an advertisement in one of the magazines and wanted to get more involved since I like the magazine and I enjoy cooking with mom and trying different foods.
What is something all kids should learn to cook? I think that all kids should learn how to make a salad and be able to cook pasta.
Do you have any advice for kids just learning to cook and who may be nervous? I would advise kids to follow the recipes carefully and be patient. Even if they mess up, it’s ok and they can try again or just keep going with the recipe and see if there’s a way to correct it!
My favorite food is: Stuffed shells
If I was a vegetable or fruit I would be: Tomato
What I love about ChopChop is: I love that ChopChop shares a lot of simple recipes for families to try.
Something I didn’t used to like to eat, but I do now is: I didn’t used to like Chinese food, but now I do.
My favorite thing to cook is: Pasta dishes
The first thing I ever cooked was: I helped my grandma bake a cake.
Have you ever messed up a recipe? What happened? Yes! My mom and I messed up a cookie recipe and they turned out really flat and thin.
