Kids’ Share Week 9 : Seeing Orange
Our ninth Kids’ Share was packed with great produce this week—and lots of carrots! Here’s a list of what we received in this weeks share: Watermelon Radishes, Red Beets, Chioggia Beets, Bolero Carrots, Sweet Potatoes, Cauliflower, Kennebec Potatoes, Scarlet Queen Turnips, Green Oakleaf Lettuce, and our surprise was a spreading knife!
“I was surprised at how many vegetables (especially carrots) could fit in this box from Siena Farms! I decided to make one of my favorite ChopChop salads with the lettuce, as well as a yummy dessert with the carrots. I used the spreading knife for the frosting!“ said Abby. Check out the recipes here, along with some other creative carrot recipes!
Fun Fact: The carrot is usually orange in color although purple, red, white, and yellow varieties also exist!
