Sprout, published by ChopChop Family in English and Spanish, is a nutrition education resource for low-income families with children up to five years old. It addresses the special needs of pregnant and postpartum women and their infants and children. Each 24-page, ad-free volume helps families, especially participants in the WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) Supplemental Nutrition Program, feel confident about cooking delicious, nutritious, and affordable meals using WIC-supported ingredients. Additionally, each evergreen volume offers fresh ideas that state and local WIC Nutrition Coordinators can share with new families to help ensure them a healthy start. The National WIC Association (NWA) provides technical review and endorsement.
