Warm Mulled Cider
Warm Mulled Cider
"Mulled" means heating up liquid with ingredients like cinnamon sticks that will flavor it gently. Mulled cider tastes like liquid apple pie!
kitchen gear
- Vegetable peeler
- Medium-sized pot
- Measuring cup
- Tongs or two forks
Ingredients
- 1 orange
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 4 cups (1 quart) apple cider or juice
Instructions
- Use the vegetable peeler to remove long strips of zest (the orange part, not the white part underneath) from half of it.
- Put the cinnamon sticks, orange zest, and cider in the pot and put it on the stove. Turn the heat to medium-high and heat until it's steamy — about 7 minutes. Turn the heat down to low and simmer for 30 minutes.
- Use tongs or two forks to remove the orange zest and cinnamon sticks, then pour the cider into mugs and serve.
Notes
"Simmer" means a very gentle boil.
