Simple Celery Salad
This is an easy side dish that makes the most of celery’s crisp texture and bright flavor.

- Cutting board
- Sharp knife (adult needed)
- Measuring cups
- Measuring spoons
- Medium Bowl
- Grater
- Large spoon
Ingredients
- 1 large bunch celery, including stalks, heart, and leaves, cleaned, trimmed, and sliced (around 4 cups)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1/4 tsp salt
- Grated zest and juice of 1/2 lemon
- 1/2 cup shredded Parmesan or crumbled feta cheese
Instructions
- Put all the ingredients in the bowl and mix gently. Eat right away (when it will be at its crunchiest) or cover and refrigerate up to 2 days.
Notes
Get creative! Try adding any or all of the following:
- 1 can tuna (any kind you like), drained
- 1 can white beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 or 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley leaves or chives
- 2 tablespoons sliced pickled jalapeños or salad peppers (such as pepperoncini)
