Pita Chips and Crostini
Pita Chips and Crostini
These are homemade versions of the best things to dip or spread. It’s amazing how easy they are to make — and how much fresher and tastier they are than those you can buy at the store.
kitchen gear
- Cutting board
- Sharp knife (adult needed)
- Baking sheet
- Pot holder
- Measuring spoon
- Pastry brush
Ingredients
- 1 whole-grain baguette, or 3 (7-inch) whole-grain pita breads
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- Turn the oven on and set the heat to 400 degrees.
- Put the baguette slices on the baking sheet in a single layer and lightly brush both sides with oil. If you’re using pita, brush both sides of each round with oil, then cut into wedges on a cutting board before putting on the baking sheet.
- Once the oven temperature has reached 400 degrees, put the baking sheet in the oven and bake until just golden, about 4 minutes per side. Cool before serving.
