Nutty Dried Fruit

Sweet, tart, and with a surprising crunch inside — these little treats make a simple, tasty party food or gift. Use all one type of fruit and nut, or a combination. Look for dried “Turkish” or “Mediterranean” apricots, which are whole apricots with a little pocket where the pit was — perfect for stuffing! “California” apricots are more likely to be halves, and harder to stuff.

INGREDIENTS

24 whole dried fruits: plums, dates, and/or apricots
24 whole almonds, walnuts, and/or pecans

INSTRUCTIONS

Wash your hands with soap and water, then gather all your equipment and ingredients and put them on a counter.

  1. Find the little slit where they removed the pit from the fruit and push the nut in.
  2. Put the fruit in clean jars or clear bags for gifting.
