Cutting board
Sharp knife (adult needed)
Measuring spoons
Serving bowl
Salad servers or tongs

1 grapefruit (peeled and pulled apart into sections, each section cut into small pieces)
2 avocados (peeled, pitted, and cut into large cubes)
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon fresh lemon or lime juice
1⁄2 teaspoon kosher salt
1 pinch black pepper

Wash your hands with soap and water, then gather all your equipment and ingredients and put them on a counter.

  1. Put all the ingredients in the bowl and toss gently. Serve right away or cover and refrigerate up to 1 hour.

In the photograph here, we “supremed” our grapefruit, which means that instead of peeling and sectioning it by hand, we used a knife to cut the peel off and then cut the fruit out of the membranes. But you can just peel it and pull it apart however you like.
