ChopChop: The Kids’ Guide to Cooking Real Food with Your Family Receives Children, Youth & Family Cookbook Award from The International Association of Culinary Professionals
Watertown, MA – March 19, 2014 — ChopChop: The Kids’ Guide to Cooking Real Food with Your Family, has been awarded the 2014 IACP Award for outstanding cookbook in the Children, Youth & Family category by the International Association of Culinary Professions (IACP).
Considered the gold standard among cookbook awards, IACP’s Cookbook Awards have been presented for more than 25 years to promote quality and creativity in writing and publishing and to expand the public’s awareness of culinary literature. The IACP Awards were presented at their annual awards ceremony in Chicago on Saturday, March 15.
ChopChopKids, the non-profit behind ChopChop: The Fun Cooking Magazine for Families and the ChopChop cookbook, was founded in 2010 by James Beard award-winning cookbook author Sally Sampson. The organization’s mission: To inspire and teach kids to cook real food with their families. Today, ChopChopKids reaches over 2 million families annually through its distribution of its quarterly magazine.

The IACP recognized ChopChop for outstanding Children, Youth and Family cookbook. Cookbooks in the Children, Youth and Family category focus on young home cooks and/or family cooking. Regarded as the authority on food writing, the IACP recognized ChopChop for inspiring “children and young people to prepare new dishes, present ways to teach basic nutrition concepts, or provide fundamental knowledge of the origin of food.” Books entered in this category must contain recipes, which were tested and evaluated by the judges.
