We’re excited to introduce our new ChopChop Kids Advisory Board (KAB). This group of cool kids was hand-selected from kids that applied. They’ll help us to test recipes, think of new ideas for the magazine, and make sure ChopChop gets the kid approval. For the next few weeks, we’ll be spotlighting different members of the board.
This week, meet Tate. Tate likes theatre, dancing, singing, karate, teaching himself piano, reading, drawing and Netflix.

How I got involved with the ChopChop Kids Advisory Board: My mom saw a post from a friend on Facebook and we filled out the applications.
Who taught you how to cook? I am a beginner cook. I am learning from my mom and from watching Food Network cooking shows.
What is something all kids should learn to cook? PB&J.
Have you ever messed up a recipe? Not yet, but I’m a beginner.
Do you have any advice for kids just learning to cook and who may be nervous? Since I am a beginner it’s hard to give good advice but what I have been doing is trying all kinds of foods and all kinds of cuisines so that I can develop my palate. This way I am able to know what foods taste like and I can try to repeat that when I cook.
My favorite food is: Vegetable Spring Rolls with Peanut Sauce
If I was a vegetable or fruit I would be: Brocolli or cauliflower.
What I love about ChopChop is: It makes cooking easy.
Something I didn’t used to like to eat, but I do now is: I don’t really dislike any foods. I like everything except for bananas.
My favorite thing to cook is: Vegetable spring rolls.

My secret ingredient is: Peanut sauce.
What I want to be when I grow up: Actor
My favorite ChopChop recipe is: CornyTomato Pasta Salad.
A fun fact about me: I am good at using devil sticks. I am currently in the musical Willy Wonka as the Candy Man at KISS Theatre Company and in the ensemble of Seussical the Musical at the Little Theatre of Wilkes Barre. I have been in 24 shows since I was 4 years old.I have been taking karate since I was 3 and am a purple belt at Fifth Dimension Martial Arts Academy. I recently attended American Rendezvous 2018 in Somerville, MA. It is a 3 day parkour event where I trained with national and international coaches.
